THE RESPONSE OF FISCAL POLICY TO THE ECONOMIC CYCLE - EXPERIMENTAL CERTIFICATE IN VIETNAM

Abstract
This study examines the impact of the economic cycle on Vietnam's fiscal policy in particular examining the effect of GDP growth on Vietnamese government expenditure using ARDL regression model.. Since then, it gives some suggestions for the operating policies of the Vietnamese government in the future. The data is researched in the period from 2000 to 2019. The empirical research results show that the response of fiscal policy to the economic cycle is positive in Vietnam. The total effect of economic growth on the change in government expenditure is 0.05 after all periods.
