Abstract
This article examines the factors affecting credit access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Ho Chi Minh City. The study employs a quantitative method, surveying 285 SME owners. Online data was collected via a questionnaire from August 2024 to October 2024. The data was then analyzed using linear regression with SPSS to examine the relationship between credit access and factors such as business size, business age, equity ratio, short-term debt ratio, and profit margin. The results indicate that business size, business age, equity ratio, short-term debt ratio, and profit margin significantly influence credit access. Lenders should consider these factors in their lending decisions to ensure SMEs' repayment ability and encourage SMEs to improve their financial indicators, thereby enhancing their access to capital. Policymakers should foster a favorable environment for SMEs to access credit, contributing to economic growth. This study elucidates the internal factors of enterprises affecting credit access amidst the promotion of green credit policies, thereby providing policy and practical recommendations to support SMEs in accessing capital more effectively.
